Computer simulation says Vitamin D supplements better than sun

To determine how much sun exposure needed to achieve the equivalent to 400 or 1000 IU of vitamin D, researcher performed computer sun light simulations for Boston and Miami for January, April, July and October.

While Miami had no problem achieving 400 IU equivalent year round, Boston could not achieve any in the winter months.

Our government recommends 200 IU of vitamin D daily for most age groups, but according to the Vitamin D Council well adults and adolescents that regularly avoid sunlight exposure should supplement with at least 5,000 units (IU) of vitamin D daily.

Current research suggest vitamin D deficiency as a major factor in the pathology of at least 17 varieties of cancer as well as heart disease, stroke, hypertension, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, depression, chronic pain, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, muscle weakness, muscle wasting, birth defects, periodontal disease, and others.

Isotonix Vitamin D provides 5000 IU in one serving of a great tasting isotonic solution. This is the supplement that I choose to use daily for myself and family.
