How to Start a Business With Little to No Money

Most people are concerned about jobs and the economy. Many have already lost their jobs and struggle to find a new job or settled for jobs paying less than their old job. Some people have found a better way to continue to thrive by starting their own business with little to no money, little to no overhead and little to no experience.

While it is best to start these businesses while you are still gainfully employed and take full advantage of earning the income to replace your job in the least amount of time, the right people can get started with no money.

What is the right person?

Someone who is teachable, coachable and trainable. Someone who can get excited about a product or service and recommend it to others. Someone who is willing to share the same system with others to start their own business and build teams of distribution.

What is the business?

There are many of these businesses. They fall under the category of direct sales and if they are legitimate should offer you the option of getting started at no cost.

“The number of hours you invest in your business will determine how quickly you grow,” said Mary Christensen, author of Be A Direct Selling Superstar. “Every aspiring direct seller should ask this question: ‘Am I prepared to put the time and effort into achieving my goal?’ It’s not enough to want it. You have to be willing to work for it.”

While the no cost methods may take you longer to generate some significant income because, you will only earn profits from the products you sell, it is a way to get started. If the no cost method is your only option, then you need to make sure the company has an option of converting to participating in their compensation plan. This would be a compensation plan that would leverage the efforts of others.

If you do not know what leverage is, you are probably being leveraged yourself.

Most of these companies have a compensation plan that allow you to build teams of people to leverage the time and efforts of others and get paid from the volume of these groups. Not all of the compensation plans are the same and not all have great training systems, so it’s important to choose wisely.

Since these companies are based on recruiting and building teams of distribution, they usually teach you to start with your friends and family to expose the products and business. Even though this is still a viable option, many are now using attraction marketing and getting incoming calls and emails from strangers that want to join them in business or purchase their products. What many people find, is that the first year in network marketing is often the most challenging—and, for some, the most discouraging. The book Your First Year in Network Marketing : Overcome Your Fears Experience Success and Achieve Your Dreams! offers advice on dealing with rejection, recruiting others, managing one's team, maintaining focus and enthusiasm, conducting meetings, and easing from a profession to full-time network marketing.  Doug Wead, former special assistant to the president, the Bush Administration says "This will be the Bible of Network Marketing".

The majority of these companies are based on the traditional horizontal structure of business which has the ability of leveraging others but also puts too many people in competition with each other. Not all plans allow you to carry over volume from month to month until you get paid on the volume. Not all plans allow you to get paid on volume to infinity. Not all plans allow you to pass volume down to your teams. Not all plans allow you to keep your teams forever without them breaking away.

The plan that I recommend provides a no cost option of getting started and a low cost option of getting started and participating in the compensation plan. If you must get started with the no cost method, it is important that you work toward converting to a distributor as quickly as possible to take advantage of the compensation plan.

Our compensation plan utilizes a vertical structure to minimize competition, allows for accrual of volume from month to month to maximize commission earnings, allows for volume search to infinity, allows you to share your volume with you team to maximize their earning while help you, and your team never breaks away from you. The UnFranchise System provides a uniform open training system company wide.
