Are Chronic Pain Diseases Being Diagnosed Instead of Vitamin D Deficiency?

The video below by Michael Turner, M.D., a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician at Mayo Clinic describes his research of vitamin D impact on chronic pain diseases such as fibromyalgia. In his research he says “Vitamin D is known to promote both bone and muscle strength. Conversely, deficiency is an under-recognized source of diffuse pain and impaired neuromuscular functioning. By recognizing it, physicians can significantly improve their patients’ pain, function and quality of life.”

I believe what his research shows is that much of the time physicians treat the symptoms of their patients rather than find the underlying cause that much of the time may be a vitamin deficiency.
