Probiotics. Are the Good Guys being destoyed?

According to the Grocery Manufacturing Association, 70% of items in American food stores contain genetically modified organisms. GM ingredients have been on the market in America for about 20 years and have many people wondering about their potential impacts on the environment and our health.

Director Jeremy Seifert was recently on the Dr. Oz show to talk about what he learned during the making of his documentery GMO OMG. Here is the trailer for the film.

Two recent studies show that the use of GMO herbicides may be harming the good bacteria in our bodies.  The active ingredient,  glyphosate, has been shown to be harmful to the good bacteria Enterococcus faecalis, Enterococcus faecium, Bacillus badius, Bifidobacterium adolescentis and Lactobacillus. I often wonder if the increase in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in young people that have been fed GM crops their entire lives might have a relationship to these good guys being destroyed by glyphosate.

According to one recent study, Probiotics in the management of irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease, some probiotics have considerable potential in the management of IBS and IBD. I have recently decided to be proactive in fighting off potential problems from our food supply and take a high quality probiotic.

“The Good Guys Team” in NutriClean Probiotics are 10 carefully selected bacterial strains – six lactobacilli strains and four bifidobacterium strains – each with a unique role to help your body maintain bacterial balance and optimal digestive health.
